ABOUT THE PROJECT
With the launch of Ford's first all electric vehicle, the landing experience of the FordPass app needed a redesign. Working with a team of researchers, designers, architects and product owners, I helped define the user experience for future iterations of the app.

Home Screen: Challenge
Design a landing experience that makes life easy for Ford owners, and supports business goals. The new design needed to:
Create layout flexibility to support new EV features
Create modularity to allow for unique experiences for all vehicle types. (Internal combustion engines, battery electric, hybrid, connected and non-connected vehicles)
Make improvements to the customer experience suggested by past research, and new research
Simplify existing app architecture and make features and information easier to find
Improve the user experience for alerts, notifications and messaging
Avoid any changes that negatively impact app performance

Home Screen: Process
The team conducted four rounds of desirability and usability tests in five regions to help guide our decisions. I co led design related activities that included ideating, wireframing, prototyping, information architecture.

Home Screen: Solution
The new design provides added flexibility for future functionality, while improving the user experience by making the most useful features easier to find and interact with.

Trip Planning
Range anxiety is a common pain point for many EV owners and intenders. This feature within the FordPass app makes planning a long distance road trip easy by providing charge station recommendations along your route.

Charging Locator
This feature within FordPass gives EV owners the ability to search and locate public charging stations. The user experience allows you to easily see real-time station availability and charge speed, so you can plan your next public charging session.
This will hide itself!
